N.C. A&T’s provost steps down

N.C. A&T’s provost has stepped down from the position one year after taking the job.

Linda Thompson Adams resigned from the job of provost and vice chancellor of academic affairs. N.C. A&T faculty and staff were notified in a memo sent on Wednesday, a university spokeswoman said. She would not comment on a reason for the resignation.

Thompson has instead taken the job as A&T’s interim associate vice chancellor for distance education and institutional engagement.

Winser Alexander will serve as interim provost, effective Friday. Alexander was most recently interim dean of the college of engineering.
